Choosing the right car seat

Child car seat — FAQ

Can I use a car seat from another country in the UAE?

Yes, as long as the seat meets an internationally recognised safety standard (ECE R44/04, i-Size R129, or equivalent). Check the label on the seat for certification marks.

Do taxis in the UAE require child car seats?

Current regulations do not require taxis to provide child car seats. However, parents are encouraged to bring their own. Some ride-hailing apps offer a car-seat option at booking.

What about children with disabilities?

Specialised child restraint systems are available for children with medical needs. Speak to your paediatrician and a certified child seat specialist for the right option.
